Leviathan

I have to admit

I’m kind of a monster

I rise up

out of the sea bed

and I eat ships

and men

I come down

with the carrion birds

to tear at the fallen

with my stained teeth

and sometimes

I spend the day

scheming

that I may get

what I want

without asking

for what I want
