Blood Moon

decades later

my heart beats

as fast as ever

like a hummingbird

trembling

over the flower

and my blood

still sings in my veins

as sweet and wicked

as the fish-tailed girls

in the moonlight

when the sky

is filled with storms

how is it for you

my bright jewel,

my spymaster

are you made dull

and tired

or do you also burn

like the red sky

above the sea in its bed
