Today the sea tilts and

lists like crumpled aluminum

sheeting across the bay

at the end of the road

the humidity is making

my hair lift

with the promise of

electricity to come.

When we walk

we can agree about

redemption for

acts of violence that

like the sea

are the only place

that the path can end

sometimes.

Choosing to act

or not

is easiest when you have

already run through

every action in your mind

and drawn and redrawn the

sword of decision

a thousand times.

The preparation for

each moment is in

being present

thus our way

takes us to the perfect

second

in which we have already

decided.
