Cloudcover

like me

the clouds are begging

to get away

to the far horizon

their cumulus curves

are already

leaning into the wind

the way I lean

towards my departure

I watch you

laughing

toss a match

into the air

that the lightning bolt

of your desire

may tear

through the sky

I am grinning like

a fool

and I say:

thank god

for the gods
