Stop with your 

intolerable beauty

we’re all transfixed 

by the light in our eyes

and burning up 

with this fever of attention 

we’re terrified of blinking 

in case we miss

some radiance 

fired in our direction 

and it’s too late 

to pull out 

the dark lenses

too late

the damage is done

is under our skin
