Surrender

Do not fear

the future

it is coming gently

for all of us

but it has kind hands

and it does not

bind us with spells

or take us

against our will.

Do not fear

yourself

who is going to deal more

tenderly with you

or love you better

in the end

than your heart.

Do not fear

my will

I set it aside

surrendering the

blade of it

it is not my way

to bind the

reluctant or to

tempt them.

Do not fear

for I say

the sun will not burn

the sea will not take

the cliff will not call

do not fear

at all.
