Prometheus

You are

Prometheus

bringing me fire

and then, coolly

chaining yourself

to the rock

they have sent

an eagle

to eat at you

for what you have done

to tear at

your emotions

because you

have lit the spark

because you

have filled my hands

with technology

with civilization

I am weeping

into my hands

which are filled with gifts

afraid that

you have given me

too much

that I will

take the fire and

burn up the world

because I am not worthy

because I am

a fragile

vessel.
