Constellation
Let us sit
with our coffee
and talk
and lay out our lives
like a constellation of stars
saying
these people have burned
for me
these people mean the world
to me.
So it is
that we may draw together
as friends
and learn to know
one another
to be recognizable
in the dark
if we are lost there.
Somehow
you catalyze all my words
and set them blazing
I will grip the wires
while they are red hot
burning up my palm
and feed them onto
the page
like a letterpress
made of fire.
