Armageddon

Of course

we have selected a place

to gather the armies

for the final battle

isn’t this what prophecies are for

to help us plan the end times

to help us regiment the destruction

of all things.

Bringing angels into the picture

to cut down

one hundred and eighty-five thousand

with a wave of the hand

is a harbinger of the nature of angels

and should remind us

of the kindness of the gods

who will provide - something.

Until today

I thought Armageddon was

a series of events like Ragnarök

including a final battle

but as it is the place

where the divine obliteration will unfold

I better open Google maps

and start looking

because I hate to be late

and the days are dwindling.
